I got a text from this number offering help with government debt, saying up to 80% could be wiped off and fees would be stopped. It told me to reply 'yes' for details or 'stop' to quit. Problem is, I never asked for any of this or signed up. It really winds me up. A few months back, something similar happened and I ended up with a £45 bill which I had to argue against and eventually got refunded. They even tried to charge my phone through some "third party" which I had to prove I didn’t authorise. Please watch out for this kind of unsolicited scam and help others avoid it too.

I got a call today from someone claiming that new government laws let you cancel your debts. They sounded pretty convincing at first, trying to explain some kind of legislation that makes it legal. Not sure if it’s legit or just another scam though, so be careful if you get a similar message.

Just got a text about a PPI claim I never made! Definitely a scam, no doubt about it.
