Ever since Labour cut back on certain benefits, we've been getting loads of these scam calls. They mostly target older folks who might not be tech-savvy. If you get one of these texts, send it straight to 7726, then also email a screenshot or just copy and paste the message to '[email protected]'. Doing this helps get the scammer's number marked as spam on phone networks, and the cyber crime division looks into the links or info in the message, which can really help with their investigations.

I got a message from this number saying it was the DWP about some winter fuel payment. I’m not signed up for any benefits or anything, so it seemed a bit dodgy to me. Probably just another scam trying to trick people.
