The caller was keen to chat with my husband, but when I informed them of his passing, they proceeded to inquire whether I was the sole proprietor of our house. They even asked if I was capable of making decisions independently or if I felt the need to confer with friends or family beforehand! Quite an incredulous line of questioning, I must say!
