Received a call claiming to be from HMRC, stating there was a fraudulent tax investigation linked to my name. They instructed me to press 1 to connect with their representative! Well, I’m quite aware that HMRC doesn’t randomly ring people like that, especially not someone of my age group. The message was pre-recorded, and the chap on the line had a distinctly British accent. It was on the 11th of January, 2021, roughly around half past eight in the morning.
