Got a call from someone claiming to be with Amazon, saying there was an order for an iPhone 16 that I needed to cancel - problem is, I never bought one. They then tried sending me a WhatsApp verification code and asked me to read it out, but I knew better and kept quiet. I played along a bit, then said I worked for the BBC’s scam team, and that seemed to spook them because they ended the call quickly.
