I got a call on my landline from an automated voice saying that someone was trying to take two payments off my debit card - one for an Amazon voucher and the other for a Western Union transfer. It told me to press 1 to say no or 2 to approve it. I let the answerphone answer because I wasn’t home at the time. They never said which bank they were from, didn’t give any card details like the last four digits, and the biggest red flag was that the call came from a mobile number, which made me instantly suspicious it was a scam.
