Got a message from this number saying something like “O2: your recent bill payment didn’t go through. Please update your details here (#]02-update bill02{###]202=2.” I checked my account and everything had been paid fine. Usually Tesco Mobile texts show their name properly, so I knew something was off. Tried ringing the number back from a different phone but it just wouldn’t answer. Definitely a scam.

They said my porting request hadn’t been processed but I knew it had, and two weeks later on the payment day I still got the same message! Also, my mobile network’s texts always show their name, not a random number like this one. Then they asked for my bank details - no chance I gave them that! Definitely a scam, so watch out!
