I’m puzzled as to why the authorities don’t put an end to these calls, especially since the number was from the UK. It’s frustrating that nothing’s done to block them!

SCAM ALERT! Got called 3 times on our home phone in just a couple of hours today. It was some recorded woman saying she was from our broadband company. She claimed our internet would be cut off in a day or two because of supposed 'illegal' stuff on our account. Then she told us to press '1' to speak to a technician. I reckon if you press that button, you might end up on a costly premium rate call or, even worse, they’ll try to get your bank info to start a new account. Avoid at all costs!
