Got a message claiming to be from the DWP saying I haven’t applied for my winter fuel payment for 2025/26 yet, but it seems dodgy. I’m definitely gonna verify on the official DWP website myself, rather than clicking any links in that text. It came from a mobile number linked to Vodafone, which makes me even more wary.

just an update on my earlier comment about the mobile number 07385262208. i checked online and it says you only need to claim if its your first time. plus ive never had a government department contact me from a new private mobile number like this before. be really careful with this number and the link cause it looks super sketchy. i did click on the link and it seemed like it was from dpw, but when i went directly to the dpw site, the wording and design was totally different.
