Scam alert - my doctor definitely wouldn’t be ringing me up at 5:27 in the morning.

Had a sneaking suspicion, so I decided to look up the number. Contrary to a few claims flying about, it’s got absolutely ZERO connection to the NHS or your local GP. Interestingly, I was actually anticipating a ring from my GP's office. I phoned my surgery only to be told that the call wasn’t from them at all. It’s clearly some sort of dodgy scam.

The phone rang from this number at 9 o'clock and again at half past eleven. It only rang for a couple of seconds each time before leaving a message that was utterly indecipherable. Can't say I understood a word of it!

TOTALLY A SCAM, these scammers are even putting up fake good reviews, so don’t trust it. I phoned the number back and guess what? No answer. Shocking, right? IT'S DEFINITELY A SCAM!!!

It’s the NHS GP calling on a recorded line. If your doctor’s arranged a phone appointment, this is the number they use for recorded conversations. If it’s not, then it’s either a private number or your usual GP’s number showing up.

I got a call on my home phone all of a sudden asking if I agreed to the call being recorded, press 1 for yes, 2 for no. I hit 2 and hung up. Now I'm a bit worried I've messed up and it might end up costing me loads. Can anyone tell me what's going on? Thanks.

Turns out it's the GP clinic on EE line, I only figured it out after piecing stuff together and going through the comments here. Would’ve been good to have a heads up 'cause it honestly felt like a scam at first. They also called the landline which was a surprise. I suppose trainee docs used to listen in face to face but since most appointments are online now, this seems to be the new normal.

This number kept ringing me several times this morning on my mobile. I was expecting a call from my GP for a consultation. When I answered, it was a recorded message asking for permission from EE to record the call. I refused a few times thinking it was a scam. They also tried calling my landline. Later, a doctor from my GP surgery sent me a text on my phone. Then the doctor rang me back on this same number and I took the call. She told me the reason they asked to record was for training new doctors. So it is a genuine call. But if you try calling this number back, it says it cannot connect.

I picked up and heard something about my call being recorded for training, so I just ended the call. Then around 10 minutes later the GP called me back (which I had asked for). After reading these reviews, it all kinda adds up now.

Got a ring from 07376908014, this woman claimed she was calling on behalf of EE offering a £10 unlimited contract with data, but I wasn’t having any of it. EE wouldn’t be calling from a mobile number, right? She got quite pushy so I just ended the call. Reading some other comments here saying it might be linked to a GP, now I’m thinking there’s something dodgy going on.

this is from my gp surgery phone. if youve arranged an appointment this message might pop up before the call asking if youre okay with it being recorded when the doc rings you. its totally above board but can be a bit unsettling the first time, especially if nobody tells you in advance!

Was a bit iffy about this call at the start. I got a voicemail asking if I was alright with the call being recorded. I said no straight away, but then when the doctor rang again, I realised it was part of their process so I gave permission for them to record it for training and quality control. So yeah, it was a genuine call. I usually block all unknown numbers, but this one seemed legit in the end.

Got a call from this number, they texted me a couple of times saying they were a doctor and left a really odd voicemail. Then, they tried to start a video call which felt super strange.

Got a voicemail from this number that sounded automated saying something like "[###)/recording. sorry we didn't catch your reply, please say yes if you agree to the call being recorded or no to continue without recording" then it just ended. It rang on my work landline, which is only shared with a few people. I’m a bit uneasy about this number cos not many have access to my work line, so feels a bit off to me.

they rang me two times within 5 minutes! both times went straight to voicemail and left some odd recorded message like the person above said ‘sorry could not detect your response.’ never had this caller before. got no clue who they are.
