Got a call from some bloke in India working at a call centre, telling me my SIM was about to be switched off due to some network issue. Then they started giving me instructions to stop this from happening. Totally a scam, no doubt about it.

I didn't actually get a phone call, but my network provider sent me a message letting me know that someone attempted to ring me from this number.

They said they were from 3 UK, but I don’t even have that service anymore - right there was red flag number one. Then when I asked who I was speaking to, they couldn’t say my name, which seemed fishy - red flag number two. After that, they sent me some kind of notification and wanted me to accept it - big red flag three. Heads up: that notification is actually a recovery code for your email. Do NOT hit accept - just decline it, ignore it, and get off the phone quick!

Someone phoned me saying they were from Vodafone, saying my SIM card was about to get switched off due to some "technical problems". Felt pretty obvious it was a scam to me.
