I posted not long ago about the boots and shoes on Gumtree, but this messaging thing carried on over several days. She was the one messaging me first, and I told her my replies were pretty unclear 'cause something felt off. Then, the photo of the woman she used on WhatsApp just vanished, which made me dig deeper. I had a gut feeling she might have been after pics of my little girl, which I'd never allow! She kept going on about having her cousin's little girl.

I never actually got a call from this number but my experience was pretty similar to what others have said. I had an ad up on Gumtree selling some baby shoes, size 7 or so, when someone called herself Penny messaged me on WhatsApp - not a standard call or text, which was a bit odd. She kept talking about her daughter’s feet and tights, which I found quite strange, and even sent me a picture! I wasn’t comfortable at all, so I just gave vague replies. Something about it didn’t sit right with me. Honestly, I’m relieved that they never asked to come and collect the shoes in person.

Got a call from this bloke pretending to be a woman named Penny, asking about a dolls house I had listed on Gumtree. Then he sent me pictures of young girls with their feet visible and asked if he could have a word, mother to mother... basically wondering if 15 denier tights would be alright for his daughter in this kind of weather?! Quite creepy if you ask me.
