Seems like a scammer had a go with this one. Got a message saying "Hi Dad, I’ve changed my number to 07871970548. I'm texting you from a mate’s phone now, so please save this new number and ping me back when you get this. Cheers." But when I tried to ring back the 07871970548 number, which shows as an O2 line, nobody picked up at all! Definitely felt dodgy to me.

Received a dodgy message today from 07377686726 claiming to be my ‘son’. It said something like, “Hey Dad, this is my new number 07871970548, texting you from a mate’s phone for now. Could you save this and drop me a text back?” Totally fishy if you ask me. Would love to track down where this supposed ‘son’ lives!
