I got a message from someone claiming to be my child, saying “Hi Dad” and that their phone was broken. They asked if I could delete their old number and save this new one. Then, on WhatsApp, they said they were stressed and talking to the bank, so couldn’t chat properly. After a bit, they asked me for money to cover a bill, but still wouldn’t call me. I said I was going to report it to the police, and that’s when the messages stopped. I blocked the number and also reported it on WhatsApp before deleting it.
