beware of scam texts claiming to be from hmrc about refunds, like the work from home allowance. real messages from hmrc usually get flagged by smartphones and wont have any links, just telling you to check your account on their official website. if there's a link, it's most likely a scam.

Earlier this evening, around 7.30pm on the sth of January, I got a txt frm the number 07376906927 claiming to be from HMRC. It said I could get a refund and to follow a link to see if I qualify. I didnt click it, obviously - if it was real, HMRC would send a letter since they have all my info. Total scam, watch out folks!

This number popped up on my phone but luckily it was flagged as spam and got blocked straight away. Glad I didn’t pick up!

I just got a text from 07376906927 claiming to be from hmrc saying i could get a refund. They want me to click a link to check if im eligible. With all the scams going around, theres no way im clicking that link. If I really was due a refund, hmrc would have sent me a letter or something, not just a random text.
