This scam may be old, but unfortunately it still catches some people out. If you get these kind of calls or messages, make sure you report them straight away on the police website called action fraud. Just search for 'action fraud' on Google, then pick the 'police.uk' link. At the top of their page is a 'reporting' button - click on that. Then choose the phishing report option. Scroll down a bit past where it talks about forwarding scam texts and you’ll find the form to fill in. It’s pretty simple to do and helps keep everyone a bit safer.
