I had an elderly mate who got a call from someone claiming to be his energy provider, saying he was due a refund. Turns out it was a scam, and they managed to swipe money from his bank account. Then, bizarrely, the same number rang back the very next day, but this time pretending to be the NatWest fraud team, probably because they realised he was suspicious. They went into all sorts of questions about his security and even asked for the last 12 digits of his debit card, saying the first four were no problem to get. Please, never respond or share any info like that, it’s dangerous.
