Got a text on my iPhone from number +44 7377 775249, said something about a Halifax alert, like I’d paired a new device on 05/11 at 21:24. I don't even have an account with Halifax, so I figured it was a scam. The message had a dodgy link, obviously didn’t click anything. Just seemed fishy to me.

Tried calling back the number, but no reply at all. The message was the same as mentioned earlier, and the caller ID showed as H Kamil, 447535301057. Quite frustrating!

On the 12th of October 2020, I got a message in Coventry from +44 7399 899229 saying a payment had been set up to hkhamil at 13:26. I honestly never made any such payment. The text told me to cancel it if it wasn’t me using a link: halifax.authnew-payee.link. Seems a bit dodgy to me!

I got a text saying payment for Halifax is all set up. The message is exactly the same but it includes a dodgy link. Looks really sketchy to me.

just got a message from halifax saying a payment to m khamil has been set up and confirmed for 11/10 at 14:52. i definitely didn’t arrange this, so i’m going to try and cancel it asap. if anyone else got this and it’s not their payment, be careful and check your account right away. the message mentioned some link like halifax.auth-new-payee-link or something, so maybe use that to stop it.

Got a text saying it was from Halifax, but it had a suspicious link that looked really dodgy to me. Definitely felt like a scam, so I didn’t click on it.
