Got a call from someone claiming to be Kevin, an HMRC official, speaking in a thick Indian accent. He was threatening me with jail time if I didn’t pay some taxes on the spot. Honestly, it’s such a load of rubbish. I can see how some might get scared by this kind of thing though, it sounds pretty threatening. I’ve blocked the number straight away - definitely a scam, no doubt about it!

Some robot voice came through saying something bad was gonna happen to me. I ended up ringing Thunderbirds about it!

Got another one of those dodgy calls today. An automated voice claimed I had a court order from the tax office. I knew it was rubbish but decided to ring them back anyway. Once I told them I was onto their scam and gave them a piece of my mind, the bloke started telling me to be quiet and began swearing at me non-stop. I accidentally called them back again while sorting my block list, and when I called them scammers, they called me a load of names again. These people are absolute nightmares and I really hope the authorities get on to them soon. I've already reported this to the police.

Like others have said, I got one of these calls too and suspected it was spam straight away. Just to be sure, I rang the number back but it just ended up buzzing and then nothing, like a dead line.

So, I got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, saying I was an HMRC Agent and needed to call them back on this number. I was actually visiting a client at the time, and honestly, if I'd been at my own office with clients around, this could have really messed things up for my business. They kept asking me to ring back.

I got a call from someone claiming to be Officer David Miler at HM1049. They said I was being accused of tax evasion and mentioned house arrest. Honestly, just block the number and don’t bother answering.

About 12 minutes ago I got a call from this number saying I might be on house arrest over some tax issues. I was a bit curious so I rang them back. A bloke picked up and started asking for personal details. I told him I’d be passing the number on to the police, and then he just hung up on me. Definitely blocking this number.
