Got a text saying it was from HSBC about a new payee, but the payee account wasn’t even with HSBC. Instantly thought it was dodgy. I looked it up and turns out it’s a scam number that’s been reported before. Blocked them straight away!

Received a message claiming to be from HSBC saying a payment of £208.42 was made to a new payee. It told me if I hadn’t done this, to check out [#]security-payees.info/hsbc. Seemed dodgy to me.

I’ve never had an HSBC account but just got a message saying there was an authorisation for a payment of £208.42 to some new payee. It said if I didn’t do it I should go to [#]security-payees.info/hsbc. Sounds dodgy to me.
