These guys are what I'd call ambulance chasers. They keep pretending they've got some real connection through my insurer, which they definitely don't. It's just pure pestering and annoying.

Got a call from someone saying they're from an insurance company after a recent accident I was involved in. Just a heads up, don’t hand over any personal info to them!

Looks like a scam to me. They rang up pretending to be from the claims team at Direct Line and wanted info about a recent crash. I asked why she didn’t know what stage the car was at in repairs or ask any security questions, and she quickly changed her tune and hung up, saying they’d sort it out by email. She claimed to be from claims but wouldn’t say for which company. Be careful - never hand over info to unknown mobile numbers!
