Got a phone call from a bloke with an Asian accent who gave his name as John. He claimed to be ringing from the National Health Association and mentioned something about booking GP appointments and blood tests, but honestly, it was really hard to catch what he was saying. I told him flat out he sounded like a scammer and all he said back was “Oh.” I ended up blocking the number and reported it straight away.

TOTAL SCAM! I got a call from someone claiming to be with the British Medical Association about Covid vaccines. When I asked how they had my details, the bloke stumbled and just said something about the "Health Authority". Then he started asking for my National Insurance number. I pointed out that sounded like I’d been scammed earlier and told him I’d just give Legal and General a ring myself to check. After that, he just cut me off straight away!

Watch out, it's definitely a scam! If you get suspicious calls, send the number and what happened to 7726. This helps mark the number as scam with your phone provider, but it only works if loads of people report it. Don't send real numbers there though, only those you think are dodgy. Also, if you get scam texts, forward them to 7726 too. To help the police, take a screenshot of the text and email it to '[email protected]' so they can check it out.

Got a call where as soon as I greeted with a 'hello', this automated voice popped up asking, 'can you hear me alright?' I just stayed quiet, and it kept repeating that question like 4 times before just cutting off. Didn’t hear any background sounds, so it was clearly some prerecorded thing. Some bloke rang up saying he was from a firm helping folks with debts. He started asking if I owed over £5k or maybe around £2k. When I asked why, if he was from a proper company, he was using a UK mobile number, he seemed a bit touchy. Said BT had assigned it to him. He then claimed to be calling from Darwen, near Blackburn, but I caught a Canadian accent slip out with a “you know what” before he just gave up and hung up. Bit of a letdown really.
