I received a phone call from someone who said they were reaching out regarding grants available for small businesses from the Local Authority. However, when I asked for a direct contact number, they provided a bogus one: 0800 016 1424. Upon calling that number, all I got was a recorded message stating it was unrecognised and to double-check the digits before trying again. The number that showed up on my caller ID was 07361 587015. When I attempted to ring it, I was immediately cut off without it even ringing. It’s abundantly clear this is some sort of scam or fraudulent activity.
