Got a call saying it was from HMRC, claiming I owed £800 in tax and had to pay right away or face serious trouble. At first, I got really worried and tried to check if it was legit by asking them to send something in writing, but they wouldn’t agree. After looking into it more, I found out it was just a scam. The calls kept coming from various mobile numbers and it’s really stressing me out, especially since I’m also looking after my family member who’s battling cancer. I’m now after some advice on how to stop these persistent calls.
