A couple of comments below show ways to tackle these scams and why simply blocking won’t always fix things. It takes a bit of effort to report, but no more than searching here and leaving a message. When you report fraud to the police, you don’t even have to give your personal info. It might take time before anything changes as the police don’t fully grasp how widespread this problem is yet, so they can’t put enough resources in. Your MP’s reaction might not be much help either, but unless many people report these calls and messages, these scams will just keep going on.

Got a call on my landline from a Bath number at about 10:40 on 7/6/22 but didn’t pick up cause I didn’t recognise it.

I got a call from a woman with a foreign accent who said she was my area energy advisor. That’s not true though, ‘cause the only local people I know are Jamie and Chris. When I asked her which company she was from, she just hung up on me. Seems like a total scam to me!
