Got a call from someone with a strange accent, mumbling their company name and saying I was due some money. When I asked if they wanted my bank details, they suddenly went quiet. I asked again if that’s what they were after, and the caller began to stammer, telling me to get my wallet. I told them off and said not to bother ringing me again.

They said I’d won some kind of holiday or an iPad but never called back like they promised in 24 hours. When I tried calling them up, the phone bill ended up being way too pricey. Typical scam!

I reckon this number has to be from a business, but I can't find any details about it online. Has anyone else come across it? If it rings you, just a heads-up: it’s probably a shared cost call, so I wouldn’t bother ringing back. I tried looking up variations of the number too, but no dice.
