Got a phone call earlier today claiming to be from BCSO, saying they were doing an update on the business directory. They asked if we only had one phone line. When I refused to give details, the caller insisted it was compulsory and that they do this yearly. Obviously, we don’t have just one line and we definitely aren’t taking part in any update this year.

I've had loads of annoying calls from this number. They kept ringing, asking for a director by their first name - that info’s easy to find on Companies House, can’t believe they don’t check first. When I tried to find out what it was about, they just wouldn’t say and ended up being really rude. Totally pointless call.

This number has rung me a few times already and honestly, they were quite impolite, so I just let it ring out. They kept phoning back, so after a while, I picked up. The caller was unpleasant again, asking for the directors by their names but wouldn’t say why they were calling or leave a message. When I said the directors weren’t in, they responded with some cheeky comments and mentioned they’d call back later in the day. I’ve blocked the number now and would suggest others do similarly.

Got a call at work from a bloke who gave his name as Tom Clarke. When i asked him what company he was with, he snapped at me saying I was being disrespectful and had an attitude. I told him i was just being normal on the phone and not rude at all, but he just ended the call. Reading the comments here, sounds like he does this all the time. If he calls you, you might as well talk back just like he did!

Received a call from someone who was really impolite, acting like they personally knew the person they were asking for. When they didn’t get the info they wanted, they just ended the call out of nowhere. I always assumed scammers tried to be a bit nicer, so it’s baffling how they think this approach works!

Got a call today from some bloke calling himself James Lee, but he wouldn't say what company he was ringing from. Asked to speak to one of our Directors who, frankly, has no clue who this guy is. Then he wanted to check the Director's schedule to ring back later. He tried the old “he knows me” routine, which was a total fabrication. I kindly told him we don’t deal with cold calls and to drop an email first, but he just kept talking over me. What a muppet. I’m in charge of who gets through to us and no way is he getting past me again on this line.

Thing is, my MD had no clue who this Jon Worthington fellow was. I just told him to send an email instead. Added the number to my phone manager and marked it as a scam now.

Really frustrating telemarketer, kept saying he was dealing directly with the director, not realizing that I *am* the director. I’m also the only one who gets the company emails, which he said he'd been in touch with. When I called him out on his fibs, he just stayed rude and pushy. I told her we don’t share that kind of info and asked to be taken off their calling list. She then said they get this info from us every year, which isn’t true at all, and refused to take us off. Then she just hung up. Needless to say, her number is now blocked.

When I asked who they were and what it was regarding, he said his name was Rob Moore and insisted the CEO would remember him since he'd sent an email earlier. I told him the CEO doesn’t work out of this office (he’s actually over in Germany) and that if he wanted to get in touch, the CEO would reply to the email. Then he just hung up on me. This is the second time I’ve had a call like this, but the previous one was from a landline not a mobile, and the person on the other end was really rude.

This number rings me a couple of times daily, someone named Olly keeps asking to talk just to the Directors. I told him straight up, no chance unless he gives his name and where he’s phoning from. His only reply was “they’ll know what it’s about,” which they absolutely don’t. When I said Director #1 isn’t interested in whatever he was pitching (we guessed it was sales), he quickly said, “Alright, I’ll try Director #2 later.” He’s behaving like he actually knows the Directors personally, which is odd.

Finally, someone should do something about this dodgy number and those scammers behind it. Whenever you get a call like that, text all the details to 7726 and wait for them to get back to you - they usually ask you to confirm the info again.
