I’ve been getting loads of calls and emails claiming I’ve been approved for a loan but need to pay a £25 admin charge first.

Someone rang me but I stayed quiet and then they just hung up, so weird lol what a bunch of weirdos.

Sounded like it was from a call centre in India or Pakistan. The guy said his name was Doug Wallace. I told him, "Not today, scammer," and ended the call. He ringed me back about four times after that. I've blocked the number now!

There was a quick pause before they switched tactics, some bloke with a thick Pakistani or Indian accent saying he was from Moneybox and claimed I’d got a loan with them! Told him to jog on, no loans here, pretty rude about it actually. Definitely a SCAM.

Got a call from Prestige Finance, but honestly the person on the other end didn't seem to know what they were doing. When I requested them to delete my info cause it was wrong, they started to argue with me. Ended up blocking the number and reporting them.

I was involved in a crash.

At first, I suspected it might be some kind of scam since I wasn’t expecting any delivery. However, it ended up being a parcel destined for my workplace, with my phone number listed as the contact. They knew quite a bit about the package and, importantly, didn’t ask me for any private info. I advised them to get in touch with our shipping team directly, which they were fine with. There was no pushy behaviour or demand for money whatsoever. Overall, I think it was a genuine call.

They said I’d been involved in some kind of accident and asked me to send a letter to sort out the details. I told them I hadn’t actually had any accident and that I preferred to have a chat over the phone instead.

Had a call from someone sounding totally legit, talked me through an offer and everything seemed genuine. We even went back and forth on the price. Then they asked for a £53 holding fee. Something felt off, so I rang both Carphone and iD Mobile to double-check. Turns out the number wasn’t theirs at all - just a nasty scam.
