Got a robo call claiming I’d wagered £800 on some American sports event, which I definitely hadn’t done. The message said if I wasn’t the one who placed the bet, I had to contact them or they’d take the payment anyway. No way I’m calling them back. I hardly ever pick up unknown numbers these days because of stuff like this, I just check my voicemail if they leave anything.

They called me saying i’d taken out a loan which isn’t true at all. When i asked them what they were on about, they just cut the call straight away.

It took me a bit to figure out the caller was talking nonsense, their communication was so bad it was obvious they weren't right in the head. They said they were some kind of national corporate, but it sounded more like a dodgy criminal gang trying to scam money supposedly for terrorism. They claimed they were raising cash for "a tiny bunch of useless and ignored nationalist socialist key workers' pensions." Then they went on about handing out freebies like helicopter rides around London, flights with British Air, and free Uber ferry and train tickets. Honestly, sounded well dodgy to me.

They rang me but then just ended the call straight away. Honestly, I’ve no clue who they are, so be careful cos I’m not sure if this number is safe or not.

I chose not to pick up since the number looked unfamiliar, figured it was likely a scam.

The woman on the phone actually said I’d requested a loan, which I definitely haven’t! She seemed to know my name too. I told her that was wrong and then hung up. I don’t usually pick up calls from unknown numbers, but I did this time and now I’ve checked it here on this site. Really frustrating!

They claimed I’d put in a request for debt assistance, but the thing is, I don’t actually owe anything.

Got a call from some guy asking if I was Mr #####, then said he was from the national debt line and asked if I needed assistance with debts. Strange thing is, I don't actually owe anything!

The caller left a message saying it was urgent, but turned out to be just some marketing firm. Kyle must really think this tactic will get him clients - how daft! I’ve told them not to ring me again.

Got a call from a lady who used my name and mentioned a nearby branch, offering “free” savings accounts and some financial stuff. Said it’d only take about 15 to 20 minutes. Felt like total cold calling to me.
