Got a text saying it was from the DVLA with a link to get back some vehicle tax. I’ve just sold my car, so I almost fell for it but then it hit me that the car didn’t have any tax to claim back in the first place! Sent the message on to 7726 to report it as a scam.

Received a text purporting to be from the DVLA, suggesting I could claim a refund on my vehicle tax. Given that I’ve just sold my car, I nearly fell for it! However, it dawned on me that the vehicle in question holds a zero tax status.
I promptly reported it to 7726 for the scam texts.

This caller claimed to be from the DVLA and asked for my bank info to sort out a car tax refund. They even tried to get the last three digits of my card, which felt a bit off. So, I looked up the number and turns out it wasn't really the DVLA at all.
