Claing to be from EE, asking "how are you today?" When I told her the state of my health is none of her business, she rang off. Blocked

Had a call today from someone saying they were O2, sounded like a load of rubbish, some lady with an Indian accent talking about high voltage risks and then stuff about a new contract deal. I wasn’t having any of it, ended the call and blocked the number straight away. Checked online to see if it was a scam and yep, it definitely was.

It’s clear these scammers are relentless!! They’ve already called me earlier today from different numbers: 07361614287 and 07361653563. They kept repeating the same story, like a broken record: that my number would be disconnected shortly unless I swapped my SIM card. They didn’t have a clue who I was, all the info they gave was totally incorrect. When I told them I’m not an EE customer, they got rude and spoke with a strong Indian accent.

They rang but didn’t say a word. The second time I answered, all I got was a quick “Goodbye.” Seems like some automatic setup just trying to see if the number is live or something.

Got a call from some bloke saying he was Dave from Sky Network, telling me my Sky SIM would be deactivated within 24 hours. I told him to sort himself out, and he just told me to go f@ck myself. Lovely behaviour from a scammer on a chilly afternoon, cheers mate.

Since Thursday, I’ve received about 15 calls from different numbers, all with a similar accent and the same story about my SIM card. They keep threatening that my phone will stop working unless I swap the SIM. It’s obvious they’re after my texts and personal accounts. Big thanks to Who Called Me for giving us a space to share experiences and give warnings. Today’s Saturday and already four new numbers have tried to call me.

Left off as a spam call, so I just ignored it.

These scammers operate in a pretty obvious way. First, they ring you up just to see if your line is live. If you pick up, expect them to be back on the phone soon. Sometimes they don’t hang up quick enough, and all you get is a quick “goodbye”. After that, they start calling more often and try to con you. They might promise a huge 40% off a new contract or try to scare you by saying your number’s signal will drop unless you change your SIM card. A few other dodgy numbers linked to this scam right now are: 07361614287, 07359808487, 07361653563 and 07308647324
