I messaged saying hi mum, my phone's knackered so im using this number for a bit, can u please send some cash to sort a bill. We kept chatting with them cos we knew it was a scam and they were after £800 sent to their bank. We’ve got their bank info now, does anyone know if the cops can do anything about it?

Got a message from this number saying, 'Hi mum, if you get this, text me back on 07956601178 cause I've smashed my phone screen and this is my temp number for now x' First off, I’m a bloke and a dad, so pretty clearly a scam attempt. The message came from someone I don’t know. I’ve reported it to my network by forwarding the message to 7726, like the police advised.
