Got a random call on my phone, but I didn't pick up.

I keep getting calls from the same or very alike numbers, but I just don’t pick up, hoping they’ll stop after a while. Once, I did answer one, and the caller started asking for my Virgin Media info - which is odd since I’m not even a customer there.

Had two calls one after the other. Picked up the first one, no sound at all. Then on the second, a lad said he was from EE trying to help me lower my bills, but it was fishy. When I began to ask a few questions, he got a bit prickly.

Got a call from an Indian/Asian woman claiming to be from O2, saying my SIM card was being swapped and would arrive in 2 days. When I asked what for, she told me the old SIM didn’t work with O2’s new system. She asked for my email, but I kept saying I wouldn’t use the one on my contract. Eventually, I gave her “full name . police fraud dept . uk” as my email. She suddenly freaked out, shouted “oh my god” and then just hung up! Total scam for sure, since the phone is brand new, I ordered a SIM just for it, keeping my number, and I don’t even have a contract with O2.
