Got a voicemail from someone claiming to be from HMRC, saying I had a tax fraud issue and if I didn’t press 1 to chat with an officer, I’d be arrested. Absolutely DO NOT fall for it - this isn’t legit HMRC. I’m an accountant and work with HMRC regularly. They don’t ring you up on mobile phones out of the blue threatening arrests over tax. You’re not going to get nicked for a few hundred quid, or even a few thousand. Plus, my other half actually works for HMRC dealing with scams like this. They really picked the wrong person to mess with here! ;)
