I’ve been plagued by constant calls regarding debt consolidation. Despite politely asking them to take me off their list, since I’m on the restricted numbers register, the caller persisted. It turned into a rather confrontational exchange, with them even threatening to involve other teams if I didn’t comply. Quite distressing, really!

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from a debt help company. They cut off after I questioned them, so I blocked the number. I don’t get why British mobile numbers are being handed out to callers abroad. It just feels like BT is making it easier for these annoying scam calls to come through.

Got a call from this number earlier, a bloke with a thick Indian accent saying he was from some Credit Investigation Bureau. I told him he had the wrong number and hung up straight away. Pretty sure he was fishing for me to say "yes" when he asked if I was alright or something like that. Definitely seems dodgy since I don’t owe anything or have any collections. Definitely block this one!

They called me once more and somehow knew my name, making inappropriate remarks and trying to be all romantic like wanting to be my boyfriend. When I told them to stop messing about and asked if they were done, they replied 'No, I want to chat with you.' I just said no way, and mentioned they’d been on the line long enough for the cops to trace the number. After that, they quickly hung up.

Total scam alert! This bloke started spouting all sorts of scary stuff, trying to intimidate me over some debts. I was clear about my rights and my actual situation, but he just told me I was living in a dreamland, said I'd never clear my debt, and even said I'd likely end up taking my own life. I got a call claiming to be from some credit checking agency. They said I have some personal debt hanging over me and that I’m paying it off monthly. When I asked about where they got the info, they said it’s from the FCA. I told them the FCA wouldn’t handle that kind of stuff, and then they switched to saying it came from the CAB. I pointed out that the CAB wouldn’t share private info like that, so I asked them then where else they could get it from. Without answering, the person just hung up on me. Definitely seems like a dodgy scam.

Avoid picking up this call at all costs! It’s one of those ring-a-ding-claims about a crash that just doesn’t have the ring of a legit office outfit. Feels more like a chap plonked on his sofa trying to con unsuspecting folks. I've had a fair few missed calls from this lot and eventually caved in to answer-only to tell them to get lost and erase my number from their list!
