Got a call from a lady who said she was calling to thank me for helping with some school book sponsorship. As soon as I started asking a few questions, she just hung up on me.

It all seemed a bit dodgy. There was a small pause before they picked up, which made me think it might be an automated system, though the caller ID showed a mobile number. After that, you could hear loads of background chatter like it was a call centre. The woman said she was ringing to say thanks for “the sponsorship” and asked about which school we intended to donate books to... I had no clue what she was on about, so I told her as much and said I wasn’t comfortable carrying on without more details. She was polite enough, but something about it just didn’t sit right.
