Got a phone call from someone claiming to be the council, saying my alcohol license was up for renewal and that I had to pay over the phone with my card. Definitely a scam, so watch out!

He called me about 5 times, telling me I had to pay for my licence renewal right away. He said if I didn’t pay by 4pm today, my licence would expire and I'd have to stop selling alcohol in the shop 🤣🤣 from Kings Lynn Norfolk.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Newcastle Borough Council in Staffordshire on Saturday. The person was really abrupt and rude, demanding money to renew a business premises license. I told them to ring back once they’d spoken to the right person who handles this stuff. After that, they started threatening to shut the business down if we didn’t pay up. Definitely reporting this to the council first thing Monday.
