I’ve had about four calls from this dodgy caller, claiming they can provide everything water-related - supply, sewage and drainage - for just a fraction of the price I was told by United Utilities. It sounded too good to be true, and it is. I pay my bill yearly by bank transfer, and UU confirmed they don’t offer any deals like that. So obviously this person’s trying to set up a fake account to steal money. This isn’t just some harmless scam, it’s outright fraud. I’ve blocked the number and reported it to Action Fraud and the Police.
