I got a text from the number 07340885078 saying it was an alert from Halifax, warning me about some dodgy activity trying to siphon money from what they called my Halifax account. The message had a link, something like payelink[###], and they’d used the Halifax logo to make it look proper. I shouldn't have clicked it straight away but I did, as it freaked me out. Later on, I rang Halifax fraud team, but it took ages to get through as they were clearly snowed under. Wish I’d just ignored that text and called them straight away instead.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Halifax saying they needed my info to secure my account. Thing is, I don’t even have an account there! Definitely sounded dodgy.
