On the 20th March at about 8.20 in the morning, this number gave me a ring. There was just a quick "beep" sound, then the call ended straight away. Not long before that, a very similar landline number, 04732 854595, called me too. Same thing happened, a beep then they hung up. The numbers were so alike, it’s obvious they’re connected. I’ve gone ahead and blocked both through our t#### box now.

Absolutely awful scam! Some git claiming he was from BT kept bombarding me with questions (which I just made up!). Then he told me to open event viewer, and eventually passed me over to his 'supervisor'. I let them jabber on for about five minutes before I just hung up. They tried saying someone's else using my internet connection, but they clearly had no clue where I actually am. These nasty fraudsters really need to be cracked down on.

Those scammers are just out to trick folks. Best thing to do is avoid talking to them altogether. Hang up straight away and block the number if your phone lets you.

They claimed to be with BT. I had a quick word and told them I wasn’t about to turn on my laptop. Then I just hung up on them. Wouldn’t believe it, they called me back from an international number asking why I’d cut the call off.

My partner got a call from this number and the person on the line started asking questions related to her credit cards. She passed the phone to me, so I asked them where they were calling from. They said BT, so I requested their office postcode. They couldn't provide one, so I ended the call straight away.

Got a call from some scammer pretending to be BT, saying something about my internet connection. This number has been ringing us twice daily all week long - once in the morning and again after lunch. It’s a ten-digit mobile, supposedly from BT. Like others have said, there’s loads of background noise, like a hectic call centre. We told some bloke called “Jack” off yesterday, but him and his mates just won’t back down. We’re definitely not BT customers, so it’s clearly a scam. They keep calling us nonstop, which is pretty worrying! Why won’t they just stop?

Today one of the women I look after got a phone call saying her internet would be cut off because someone hacked her. It really distressed her and gave her a lot of worry. The bloke on the line had an Indian accent and kept asking about her computer, which she doesn’t even own. Once he realised that, he just hung up and said he’d deal with it himself.

Got a call off a woman claiming she was with BT, saying someone was mucking about with my internet for dodgy stuff. I just told her "Fair play to them" and ended the call. Don't really know what their game was, but it felt fishy to me.

On Wednesday the 7th of March, I got a call from the number 0732854595. The person on the other end had a strong Indian accent, and there was a lot of background noise that made it seem like they were at a busy train station. They said there was an issue with my internet and claimed to be from BT. I ended the call quickly because the internet account is under my husband’s name, so if there really was a problem, they’d have wanted to talk to him, not me.

These fake boyfriend scammers are proper idiots. If you're able to, try to mess with them a bit or even better, just put the radio on near your phone and leave it while you make a cuppa or something.

Totally a scam, no doubt about it. BT doesn't ring you up out of the blue for stuff like that. Just hang up straight away and block the number if you have the option. I had a laugh when I kept them on the line by playing music back at them - served them right, really!

Got a call again from this number, guy sounded Indian and said he was from BT. He told me it was about me signing up for some call blocking thing. I kept him waiting on hold with music for like 9 minutes before he finally just put the phone down.

I’m getting about three or four calls every day, usually just silence when I pick up. But yesterday, I had like three different calls where the person claimed they were calling from BT about internet problems. I just leave the phone down and walk off, let them chat on their own for a bit, it’s pretty funny really.

It’s the second time I’ve had this sort of call today, both saying they were from BT. Asked where they were calling from and both times they gave me the BT HQ address. Weirdly, this time the number that showed up on 1471 was different from the first call. Definitely feel like something fishy’s going on.

Sometimes it’s dead quiet on the other end, other times there’s just a recorded message saying “goodbye.” Today, the person claimed to be from BT and warned that my internet wasn’t secure. Some bloke called me from BT, said my internet wasn’t safe or summat. Funny thing is, when I was with TalkTalk, the same type of calls came from them, claiming to be from TalkTalk. Makes you wonder who’s passing my details around like that. I kept them on the line for a bit, fully aware they were up to no good. They even hand you a number to ring back, like that makes it legit or something. Loads of folks might get duped by this nonsense. Proper shady behaviour, taking advantage of people. Really got on my nerves!
