Got a recorded message supposedly from "HMRC" about a fraud investigation linked to tax evasion. Funny thing is, they never actually said my name in the message. I was told to press 1 to talk to “my case officer”, then came the usual scare tactics about acting quickly or facing a warrant and imminent arrest. Totally sounds like one of those scam calls straight out of a textbook. I just ended the call - don’t owe a penny in tax and thankfully, still free!
