I got a weird message that showed no phone number linked to it. It mentioned some kind of group with a few members, and then gave this phone number as the sender. Feels like a clever scam designed to get nosy folks to check out the number or maybe even call it. I’m definitely steering clear of it and plan to report it as spam by sending it to 7726.

I got a message on my phone that looked like it was from the DWP, saying I could claim a one-time payment of £200-300 to help with energy bills. It had a link to click, but I knew it was a scam trying to steal my info. So, I sent the message over to 7726 to report it. If you don’t know, 7726 spells SPAM on a keypad. Whenever you get dodgy texts from numbers you don’t recognise, send them to 7726 to be safe. Just make sure you write down the number that sent it first, cause after you forward the message, they’ll ask you to reply with the original number to help their investigation.
