Got a text on 28 August 2020 at about 1:31am claiming to be from PayPal saying there was a strange payment and asking me to click a link to remove limits. Totally dodgy! Don’t follow the link. If you’re worried, just log straight into your PayPal account through the official website. These days, PayPal usually sends a verification code to your phone, so this kind of payment is unlikely to be genuine. The number that sent the text looked really fishy to me. I went ahead and reported it to Action Fraud.

The internet's such a nightmare sometimes, with loads of people out there up to no good. They fake legit numbers and trustworthy websites just to nick your info and, at the end of the day, your money. What annoys me most is how the phone companies and service providers don’t seem to care at all. Depends too much on the web, and I’m convinced it’s gonna end up causing a massive downfall for us all. Honestly, sometimes I think global warming’s the only thing that might set things straight - we really don’t deserve this planet.

Got a call in Exeter and since I hardly ever use PayPal, I figured it was probably a scam. Whenever I’m unsure, I just open a new browser and go straight to the PayPal site instead of clicking on any links they send. Always better to be safe!

Seems like it was a scam, I got a message with a PayPal link claiming I'd made a payment. The web address looked a bit dodgy though. I'd say loads of folks might easily get tricked by this.
