Just got a message on my phone from this number saying there was unusual activity on my PayPal and telling me to click on a link (it started with https and ended with [###], but the middle part was user-id212). Obviously a scam, looked dodgy to me.

I got an automated call telling me £79.99 would be charged to my Amazon account for renewing Prime unless I pressed 1 to speak to a manager. I pressed 1, and a guy with an Asian accent answered, asking if I was at my computer. I said yes, then he asked if it was a Mac or a PC. When I asked why that mattered, he just hung up. Total scam.

Today at 2:32pm here in Leeds, West Yorkshire, I got a call from the number 07310 271280. A man's voice said he was with HMRC and told me to ring back. When I did, a woman picked up and asked what my call concerned. She then requested my full name and postcode. She went on to say there was some sort of probe going on regarding me and warned I might be arrested. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

Lately Ive been getting a bunch of calls from numbers I dont recognise. When I answer, there's dead silence and then the call just drops. One time I actually heard some weird breathing before they said "hello" and then just hung up straight away. Its pretty creepy and ive seen loads of different numbers doing this to me recently.

Got a voicemail from someone claiming to be HMRC, not buying it at all! Just ended the call and blocked their number straight away.

I rang the number back and they said they were from HMRC, claiming to be located at 100 Parliament Street, London. They then said I was being investigated for tax fraud and needed to cough up £2,355 right away to settle the matter. When I asked them to verify more personal details and requested a number to speak with a manager, the bloke suddenly got all flustered.

I just got a phone call telling me I supposedly owed £3296. It didn’t add up since I’m employed by Hampshire. They said there’d be a warrant out for me within 30 mins, which sounded fishy. I told them to make it official and then hung up. After that, I contacted HMRC to check. Fingers crossed no one’s been tricked by these scammers.

I got a call from someone named Justin Holiday claiming to be from an HMRC investigation unit. He told me I'd got a tax bill of £3297 after some audit. When I asked to talk to his manager, it was obvious something was off as they confused personal tax with VAT. I ended the call straight away. It’s definitely one of those scams coming out of India.

Got a recorded message from some bloke pretending to be HMRC again. He said I’m about to get taken to court for dodging my taxes, but if I call back right away, they’ll cancel everything. Got a call from someone claiming to be David Miller from HMRC, saying I had criminal charges for tax evasion from 2015 to 2020. This was rubbish because my employer always pays my taxes on time. He kept insisting I set up a payment plan for over £500 or I'd get arrested. When I said I needed to check with my employer first and that I couldn’t afford it right now, he just pushed for immediate payment. Then he threatened that HMRC officers would show up at my house and suddenly ended the call. Tried calling back but he’d blocked me. Total con!

Got a robo call claiming HMRC is taking me to court for not submitting my tax returns. Honestly, it's daft. I can't imagine many being fooled by this. For starters, HMRC wouldn’t just ring up random mobiles out of the blue. I ended the call straight away. I’m employed by the council and paid through PAYE, but I worry this kind of thing could seriously upset others.

I keep getting calls from 1017310 317185 and it’s definitely not HMRC. These scammers have been ringing for ages. They even used a callback number linked to my workplace, so I’m certain it’s a con job. HMRC wouldn’t ever leave an automated voicemail or ring you up out of the blue like that. Just ignore it!
