These scammers around Chandigarh Mohali pretend you owe loads to HMRC. I just told them how much I'd charge for a night with their mum or sister, and they hung up quick enough. I even rang back once, and the guy admitted scamming folks in the UK was his hobby, no shame at all.

Got a couple of voicemails from these guys saying I was caught up in tax fraud or something. Just blocked their number straight away.

Got a call from this number out of nowhere telling me I was about to be arrested for dodging tax. I told them I hadn’t got any letters about it, and the only post I’d got from HMRC was about a tax refund. I then said I’d ring HMRC myself to sort it out, and that’s when they just ended the call.

I received a rather alarming phone call earlier, claiming that HMRC was planning to take legal action against me. Is this some sort of con? I outright asked if it was a scam, and the person on the other end coldly responded that I'd find out in half an hour before abruptly disconnecting! What a bizarre experience!

I find myself in a similar predicament to those mentioned previously. I've been forced to return a call due to a rather alarming court case regarding alleged tax evasion. The situation is particularly unsettling for me as I’m currently not employed; my role as a full-time carer keeps me occupied.

I received a missed call from this number, and since it’s a business contact I have, I decided to ring them back. What followed was quite alarming; they started threatening me, claiming they would seize all my possessions and that the police could arrive at any moment, among other things. They certainly had the whole act down pat, complete with a case number, an officer’s badge number, and an HMRC address. Their accents had a light Indian cadence, and the connection was surprisingly clear - it felt all too authentic. Once I realised it was a con, I inquired about resolving the matter without involving the courts, which led to me being passed along to their accounts department to discuss a supposed bill of around £4000. At that point, I decided it was best to just disconnect. Since then, I haven’t received another call...

That voice had a real Doctor Who vibe, reminiscent of the chap from All Creatures Great and Small! I reckon the doc’s in a bit of a pickle with his TARDIS. He wanted me to ring him back, but, frankly, I’ve not got a TARDIS to use, so I can't help him out there. By the way, if you happen to catch this, you'll be amazed to hear that Amy Pond’s in Jumanji these days! Fair warning though - it’s a scam! Just an automated call. Best not to ring back!
