Got a text supposedly from HSBC saying there was suspicious activity on my account. Thing is, I’ve never even had an account with HSBC, so I knew straight away it was a phishing scam. There was a link at the bottom of the message, so out of curiosity I checked it on a secure laptop. Turns out, it leads to a bogus HSBC site asking for all sorts of personal info - passwords, dob, banking details, the lot. It’s proper dodgy and could catch people off guard if they panic and just click without thinking. Stay careful and watch out for stuff like this!

This number just sent me a message saying something about HSBC checking some weird activity on my account, with a link to click: [#]review-new-payee[###]/hsbc. Thing is, I don’t even have an account with HSBC, and it all seems pretty fishy to me. Honestly, I’ve no clue what would happen if you actually tap the link.
