Like loads of others have pointed out, it’s definitely a scam. Got a text saying something like PAYMENT ALERT - there was an attempt from a device I don’t even own. Total rubbish trying to scare you.

Just like others have mentioned, this is definitely a scam. I got a text saying there was an attempt to make a payment from some device I don't even recognise. Sounds like one of those fake alerts to me.

I'm not actually a Nationwide customer, but it showed up that someone tried to make a transaction using a different device. Pretty sure it's a scam.

On the evening of 31 August, just after 10pm, I got a text from +44 7310 122438 saying something about a nationwide payment being tried from a new device. It warned me to visit a site if it wasn’t me. I hadn’t made any payment, so naturally, I clicked the link. But then the page asked for my banking info, which definitely set off alarm bells - I knew it was dodgy straight away.

Got a message from this number saying “Alert: there was a payment tried from a new gadget. If it wasn’t you, click [#nationwide#support###]” or something like that. I don’t even have an account with Nationwide, so I reckon it’s a scam trying to steal info. Really dodgy stuff!
