Honestly, this looks dodgy to me - got a text about a new payee named C Jones, just like others have said before. I wouldn’t touch mobile banking or HSBC with this kind of thing going on.

Got a text from this number saying something about HSBC and a new payee application. It had a link for fraud contact or something. We don’t have an account with HSBC, so I’m pretty sure it’s just a scam.

I got a text from 0730 936 0772 saying "HSBC: New Payee request for MR C JONES to your account via your HSBC mobile banking app. If this isn’t you, go to: security.hsbcuk,confirmation-form,com" The thing is, I don’t have HSBC and I’ve never used mobile banking at all.
