Just got a random text on 12 March 2020 from this number claiming to be from HM Revenue & Customs. It had a link that looked suspicious and probably leads to a dodgy website. The message didn’t use my name or anything personal. If HMRC needed to reach me, they’d send a proper letter through the post, no doubt. I’m absolutely convinced this is a phishing attempt or maybe trying to infect my phone with malware. Best advice: don’t click anything or reply.

I got a message on 12th March 2020 claiming to be from HMRC, telling me to sort out my income tax right away. It had a link included, but it was very obvious it was a scam. Definitely don’t click on anything like that!

I got a text saying I was due a tax refund... just like others here mentioned, HMRC usually contacts you by letter or through their official app or website. If anyone knows how to report this number, please let me know. The number is 07309357277.
