Got a call today from this number claiming to be HMRC, but I’m pretty sure it was a total scam. They told me to press one, but I didn’t fall for it. The caller was using a robotic voice that sounded quite harsh, with an American accent and phrases that don’t ring true for HMRC. What’s worrying is that I got the call right after I’d just finished paying my taxes, so I reckon they might have somehow got hold of some info from HMRC.

I'm pretty sure this is a scam. They said it was from HMRC about a VAT letter and told me to tap 1 to talk to an officer. The number's now blocked on my phone.
